About

For the cast and crew of The Ultimate Thriller, this was so much more than just putting together a concert and going on tour. This was a labor of love for every single person involved with this production. For the star of our show, it was about getting an amazing opportunity to perform the songs of the artist he`s most adored his entire life in front of thousands of people.

For the dancers, it was a chance to learn and execute some of the world`s best-known choreography. For the band, it was knowing they were going to play some of the best music ever produced. And for the production staff and crew, it was about bringing out the best in the performers and being a part of something special.

Just as the appeal of Michael’s music spanned multiple generations, so does the homage paid by The Ultimate Thriller. The concert brings together youthful passion and time-tested wisdom with but one goal: share the magic, the music, and the energy that Michael gave us all. Michael Jackson was the incarnation of the so-called American dream. Born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana, he grew up in poverty but would go on to reach the absolute peak of the pop music world.

For millions of people he was an idol. For nearly four decades he formed pop music culture worldwide. He wrote the soundtrack for an era, influencing fashion, lifestyles and dances of generations in the process. He was one of the most successful artists in pop history, selling more than 750 million albums – including “Thriller,” the best selling album ever. He was one of a kind.

Through the years he had 14 number one songs in the US charts, won 18 Grammys, and performed the single most successful concert series at London’s Wembley Stadium. If that weren’t enough, he produced the most successful music video in the history of the genre. On August 29th Michael Jackson would have celebrated his 51st birthday. On July 13th he would have performed the rest of 50 concerts in the London’s O• Arena. This tour, called “This Is It,” was meant to be his goodbye from stage. But it never came to be... The Ultimate Thriller is a musical bow to the superstar, sharing his heritage by performing music from his two legendary tours: The BAD World Tour and his Dangerous World Tour.

The Ultimate Thriller brings Michael’s best songs live on stage once again: “Man in the Mirror,”“Black or White,”“Beat it,”“Billie Jean,”“Thriller,” and many more unforgettable songs are part of a concert that runs over two hours. Other parts of the program include songs from the days when he was a member of The Jackson 5, along with selected songs from the “Thriller” and “Off The Wall” albums.

The onstage lineup for The Ultimate Thriller includes “Michael,” four musicians, two back-ground vocalists and four dancers. To ensure that this will be nothing less than a world-class production, The Ultimate Thriller has joined forces with members of Michael Jacksons “inner circle”, whose members include LaVelle Smith, a five-time MTV music award winner for best choreographer who was Michael`s Principal dancer and Tour choreographer during the “Bad”, “Dangerous” and “History tours; Mic Thompson, who was known as Michael`s “white shadow”, dancing with Michael for eight years and Michael Prince, who was Michael`s long time personal recording engineer and audio consultant. Add the onstage performances of guitarist Jennifer Batten who performed on The BAD, Dangerous and HIStory tours, bass Player Sam Sims who performed with Michael on MJ and friends and other select concerts and Keyboardist Darrell Smith. You may even see people on stage with The Ultimate Thriller who were about to perform with Michael for "This is it". Together, they bring the kind of insight that could have only been achieved through years of working closely with the superstar. Their infuence will be apparent from the moment the show begins. The Ultimate Thriller is not trying to replicate Michaels music but rather has the people who performed with him day in and day out for nearly 3 decades.
